STARVATION IS THE REALITY OF WELFARE AND PENSION REFORM IN ENGLAND TODAY
Welfare Reform began under Labour back in 2015, who brought in Atos and invented the Bedroom Tax.
The need for Food banks began to rise back in 2005.
WHAT ARE FOOD BANKS?
Food Banks are not provided by the government or councils.
The government devolved the Social Fund budgets to councils, who absorbed the funding into general council budgets, telling the starving to go to charitable food banks. This has now back-fired.
Food Banks are provided by charities, mostly churches, and staffed by volunteers.
A university professor described food banks as a sticking plaster over a gaping wound, in the Panorama programme on food banks on Monday, 3 March 2014.
Food banks are indeed a lie, as you only get 3 vouchers in a year.
If you are hungry one day, you are hungry every day.
WHY ARE FOOD BANKS GROWING SO FAST TODAY?
Welfare Reform sanctions those on benefit for weeks or even months at a time, and can, indeed, sanction off all income for three years.
This means hundreds of thousands of people being left, weeks or even months with no funds, and then found to have been wrongly sanctioned.
But what of those, who cannot get back on benefit? These are then left to starve forever.
Youth homelessness at an all time high, and great rise in bin-dipping for food, recently failed to be prosecuted as a case law precendent.
But why grovel in the rubbish for food, when it could go to the starving direct with public hygiene?
WHO ARE THE POOR GOING TO FOOD BANKS?
As one food bank manager observed, if sanctioned, why leave these people to starve?
The belief is that welfare and benefit only means unemployed people, from disadvantaged backgrounds, alcoholics, etc.
This view is decades out of date, because in old English half a century back, welfare was only meant to mean the dole, the line of people waiting for poor relief when out of work.
Only 3% of the benefits bill goes on unemployment today.
(Source Dame Anne Begg,
Chairwoman Commons Select Committee on Works and Pensions,
who otherwise could not care less about pensioners,
nor her fellow women losing state pension at 60,
when women MPs kept the pension payout (and thus state and works pension payout)
if within 10 years of that age.)
Half the benefits bill goes to people in work.
The other half to pensioners.
The disabled and chronic sick, who can be over 60, are also too easily sanctioned off benefit or never gain benefit.
The Bedroom Tax and cap on housing benefit hits people in work and takes away their food money.
A third of Londoners are within the working poor, for example, with wages flat-lined back to the level of salaries back in 2002.
Over 13 million people struggle to make ends meet each day in the UK today.
One reason, is that the half of women aged 60-66 that are within the working poor, have lost state pension payout of state pension at 60, which is up to around £6,300 a year of lost income:
WHY COUNCILS ARE HAVING TO DONATE MONEY TO FOOD BANKS IN ENGLAND TODAY WHEN GOVERNMENT SAYS THIS IS NOT HAPPENING BECAUSE OF THEM?
Millions of pounds are donated by up to 140 councils in England and Wales from taxpayer-funded public health budgets to help local food banks (remembering solely volunteer staffed charities).
However, national government rejected millions of pounds of funding in 2014 from the EU for food banks, so showing could not care less about the hungry elderly, working poor and kids.
The Social Fund (now called Local Welfare Provision Grant) will be axed in budget year 2015-2016, that gives emergency funds to those with no money, so therefore starving.
So why are not all council public health budgets not offering daily soup kitchens as is done in central Athens, Greece?

What is the point of NI when the state pension is morally stolen to pay for politicians to have an 11% pay rise in 2015 general election year
No pay rise for Swans candidates getting into parliament, who will also not need expenses including travel costs, done free within defence budget by military staff).
- Bring more housing into social housing and cap rents to minimum wage. Even in London.
