How to Save Your Life Yet You Bring England Back to Prosperity in 2015

ALL CURRENT POLITICAL CLASS THE CAUSE NOT THE SOLUTION

Labour says that in government in 2015, it would would tackle the “root causes” of rising costs – such as low wages, youth unemployment and the increase in part-time workers.

The vast majority of Labour voted for Tory policies on welfare now. We can but hope that the dozen or so rebels now leave Labour and join and promote a real socialist party.

As Labour's solution is just another form of Workfare, forcing young people into jobs with insufficient legal minimum wage to not fall into food and fuel poverty.

All other parties, even new little ones saying they are for pensioners, believe in Austerity and Welfare Reform, that has actually caused national debt to spiral ever deeper and left millions with the fear of being left with nothing, or actually suffering it.

WELFARE COSTS NOT RISEN BY WHAT IS GIVEN TO PEOPLE

The admin of welfare reform has been the cause of more debt, as shown by the Tories racking up as much debt in 4 years, as Labour did in last 13 years, who began all this welfare reform, bringing in Atos and inventing the Bedroom Tax.

Welfare and pension reform has withdrawn money from people, leaving them with absolutely nothing.

The local economy has lost by the millions. Not least by tax changes as much as welfare money lost to people.

Whilst private contracts in welfare admin has caused government debt to spiral by the billion, so government wasting funding on that and not on investment in business, which is the role of government in recessions.

This is most obviously seen in town centres become ghost towns, with all the lost of jobs, because it is the low waged, low income unemployed and pensioners who go to shop on the high street.

Or they did.

No more.

WELFARE GOES TO PEOPLE IN WORK - SO ANY FALL IN UNEMPLOYMENT WILL NOT SOLVE ANYTHING

The loss of benefit to people suffering flat-lined wages crashed down to 2002 levels in value, was made worse by the rise in retirement age taking nearly £140 a week in state pension and pension credit from women at 60 and men at 65.

Losing benefit, lose Cold Weather Payment.

Lose state pension, lose Winter Fuel Allowance.

The Pension Bill was bad enough for people and a burden on cash-strapped business in a recession.

There is far worse to come with the Flat Rate Pension, that is actually less or even nil income in old age for millions.

WHAT WOULD THE SWANS DO DIFFERENTLY?

- End All Austerity and Welfare Reform

- End all Welfare Reform Admin, both in government and in private contracts

- End Department of Work and Pensions and all committees in parliament about same

- Automatic Citizen Wage of £1,750 to all adult citizens, tax free - yes £21,000 a year - 18 til 59 years of age. This replaces all the admin benefits costs for able bodied and disabled/chronic sick by just being automatically paid.

- No Citizen Wage for any level of politicians and a Banker / Investment Stockbroker due a bonus.

- No Benefits for non-citizens or social medicine. Benefits from home nation, private medical insurance, own social housing credit unions and schooling. Or funded by international refugee agencies to which UK already contributes anyway.

- Full State Pension to all adult citizens at 60 of £121,000 (made up of private, works and state pension or state pension alone if no other pension income) instead of Citizen Wage.

- Basic Tax Allowance of £21,000

- Tax Allowance at 60 of £25,500

- Halve energy bills by ending green taxes and nationalising utilities

- Revoke Welfare Reform Act, Pension Bill (all of them) and Flat Rate (Single Tier) Pension 2016

- Pass law to guarantee pension payout
(passed in 1975 and revoke by Tories in 1993 and never brought back by Labour since then)

- End all welfare admin, assessments, welfare tribunals and appeal courts, so saving the lives from that stress to the disabled and chronic sick

- Top slice public sector management and focus on staff delivering frontline services

- End politicians' expenses system and drastically reduce the political class

- Reduce number of councils by merging all councils into one council per county or big city, with no more than 10 elected by the public People Advocates

- End House of Lords (save on expenses for 900 Peers, about to grow to 2000)

- Promote Scottish independence and leave each devolved nation to self-fund own parliament (that is: Ulster, Wales and Scotland).

- Bring all empty homes into social housing, with rents capped to minimum wage

- Private rents only to the squeezed middle and not the low waged, meeting minimum levels of maintenance for healthy living.

- Austerity in a recession is what the IMF said was a mistake about Greece, that has imploded that nation into not just a 3rd world country but a 4th world nation. Europe even wanted to tax the charities feeding Greece's population every day a cooked meal and a hot drink.

Ensuring London's Parliament Saves Your Life in 2015

ONLY NEW PARTIES CAN SAVE YOUR LIFE

There are several little real socialist parties in England, at the moment all separate, failing to get themselves together so as to get in 350 MPs into London's parliament in 2015 general election.

Either as a single party of merged political parties or a coalition of most or all.

We await to see if they actually care about the citizens of this country to do just that?

WHAT THE SWANS OFFER TO THE SOCIALISTS?

But the real socialists winning the next general election is not enough.

Facing the socialists across the floor of the House of Commons, the London parliament that runs the UK, would be a political party of the current ones that are all right wing, that would try to thwart any return of the welfare state, that offers you any hope of survival into the future.

Only you can bring about The Swans new party, that by making inroads into UKIP and Tory heartlands, as well as Labour, would form a government or opposition, that would ensure that the Welfare State returns.

All the current political class believe in Austerity and Welfare and Pension Reform, that is especially hitting women, who tend to be poorer on average than men.

No socialist party has expressed any interest in pensioners.

The Swans would be the best party in the UK in history for pensioners and for those aged 60 and above.

The Swans would revoke the Pension Bill (all of them) and the Flat Rate Pension 2016 that deprives people of any income in old age forever.

Click here to see if you lose most or all of your state pension:
https://you.38degrees.org.uk/petitions/state-pension-at-60-now

WHAT WOULD THE SWANS OFFER THE SOCIALISTS?

The socialists know they would not gain the votes of those over 60, and yet these are the majority of voters left in the UK.

The young and many of the squeezed middle do not bother to come out to vote, even if they are on the electoral vote and so have a right to vote.

The Swans would offer something to the squeezed middle, in which are a lot of pensioners and women aged 60 since 2013.

The socialists would bring the poor, unemployed and homeless young into voting, as Gandhi observed, People's Politics Are Their Daily Bread.

In amongst the squeezed middle are people who struggle to pay the food bill for the family, because of the huge rise in the cost of living.

It is not enough to freeze energy bills.

The Swans would immediately half the bill by ending green taxes.

The socialists will realise that it is the poorest in society that are burdened the most by green taxes, which have not really brought a low energy community.

The Swans would end all the subsidy of profit making wind, tidal, wave and end building new nuclear power plants. Instead, there is off the peg technology already available to make homes, towns, businesses, industry and government building self generating in electricity and share the electricity not used. So bringing down the cost of electricity to next to nothing.

Even vehicles driving along a road could power the street lights.

No more landfill, that all become nationalised energy from waste so nothing goes to waste, but energy regained for a second time.

Between the Swans and the socialists, we would end the threat to life to you and your family, friends, colleagues, and fellow vulnerable and poor in society, that include the 30,000 elderly who die from preventable freezing in their own homes.

The Swans new party

Only you can make the Swans a reality. Do it today and help make London's parliament the first one in history that is about the people and not some remote elite, who have never lived our lives.

The Welfare State is Cheaper Than Reform

ALL CURRENT POLITICAL CLASS ARE THE SAME PARTY

So we are told that all Labour, save about a dozen MPs, supported the Tory and Lib Dem policy of a welfare cap.

At the same time, the British Catholic church again has observed the huge growth of children coming to school hungry and the kids themselves needing to go to food banks, from families in work, that are fully half of all the benefits bill.

With the welfare cap, the Bedroom Tax pushes more and more people into rent arrears to the council, so the tax costs more than it gathers as not even 6 per cent have moved to smaller homes, because there are not any. Long ago sold on by councils and developers could not rent or sell homes of only 1 or 2 bedroom, so these were not built.

Meanwhile, the taxpayer pays the bedroom tax of politicians, by around £20,100 each year for MP's second home.

And pensioners are liable for Bedroom Tax if one of the partners is below the retirement age, which was raised by the Pension Bill, so losing women especially from 2013, around £137.53 per week (and Pension Credit of around £35 and Winter Fuel Allowance of £200 per year), with this resulting in a total loss over 6 years of around £43,000.

Far worse is to come with the Flat Rate Pension from April 2016, which leaves millions with nil income in old age forever, that even take away a small £66 pension per week to someone turning 80 in 2016.

Click Here to see if you lose most or all of your state pension
realising that from April 2016 Pension Credit and SERPs and S2P end:
https://you.38degrees.org.uk/petitions/state-pension-at-60-now

THE WELFARE STATE IS CHEAPER AND HELPS THE ECONOMY IN A RECESSION

As we had an age of prosperity immediately after the Second World War, when the welfare state began, right up til near the modern age of the 1970s, it can only be concluded that doing Austerity in a recession and the cost of Welfare Reform is actually bringing the nation closer to a Greek economic fate.

The Coalition having spent more in last 4 years than Labour spent in last 13 years.

Labour began welfare reform when Blair came to power, invented the Bedroom Tax and brought Atos into welfare. So whatever deaths may be happening now under the Coalition, is also the fault of  Labour, in any judgement from history in the future.

As 47 Labour MPs failed to vote against the Bedroom Tax, including the Shadow Chancellor Ed Balls, then Labour is as much to blame for that tax as the Coalition, as the vote was lost by just 26 votes.

HOW WOULD THE SWANS DO THINGS DIFFERENTLY?

- Revoke Welfare Reform Act

- Revoke Pension Bill and Flat Rate Pension 2016

- Citizen Wage for all adult citizens £1,750 per month

- Full State Pension at 60 for all citizens of £15,000

- Basic Tax Allowance £14,000 from 18 til 59

- Tax Allowance at 60 of £15,500

- Winter Fuel Allowance of £500 for winter 2015/2016

- End all welfare admin by automatic Citizen Wage

- End Department of Work and Pensions by having the Automatic Citizen Wage

- End Atos and all the other private contracts in welfare admin / assessments, themselves abolished

- Citizen Wage for all save politicians, in work or not, just as the state pension payout can be paid yet you continue in work or find other work

How to Pay Off National Debt Yet End Austerity and Welfare Reform

THE MYTH THAT AUSTERITY AND WELFARE REFORM PAY OFF NATIONAL DEBT OR BRING DOWN THE NATION'S DEFICIT

We are told that Austerity is needed because of national debt and deficit and this is the reasoning for all the Welfare and Pension reform that has left people cashless, hungry and freezing.

Pension Reform threatens the poor with nil income in old age forever, as well as the end of Pension Credit, SERPs and State Second Pension and any additional pension from contributing to same for new claimants from 2016.

Click here to see if you lose most or all of your state pension
https://you.38degrees.org.uk/petitions/state-pension-at-60-now

HOW BOTH LEFT AND RIGHT CURRENT MAJOR PARTIES MAKE NATIONAL DEBT AND DEFICIT WORSE

A little party running in England for the European Elections in May 2014, called the English Democrats (good mates with Scottish Nationalist Party) said:

"The Economic Recovery

We all welcome the recovery that is underway. But why has it taken so long? Why will we still be suffering austerity for many years?

Had the Chancellor in 2010 decided to cut the current expenditure overspend over 5 years whilst maintaining capital expenditure there would have been an outcry. But growth would have been accelerated by at least a year. This means that 2014 would be our third year of significant growth, unemployment would have be much lower, the economy would now be larger than in 2008 and we would not be facing years of austerity.

Gordon Brown failed in his primary duty of maintaining public finances. Chancellors are supposed to borrow money during a recession when tax revenues fall and fail to cover the increase in welfare costs. Then when growth returns they are supposed to run a surplus to pay back the debt as tax receipts increase and welfare costs decline. This he failed to do leaving the incoming Chancellor with a knotty problem. Did Osborne get the best solution?

If you cut capital expenditure and raise VAT you automatically reduce future growth. But that is what the Osborne did!

In a recession you need to ensure your capital expenditure is keeping local people in work"

NO CURRENT PARTIES OFFER ANYTHING DIFFERENT TO THE ABOVE SCENARIO IF WIN IN 2015 GENERAL ELECTION

Ed Balls, Shadow Chancellor, has informed that if Labour win 2015 general election, Labour will just continue Tory spending plans and be even harder on welfare reform than the Tories.

We cannot know if Labour can form a government in 2015, because 41 Labour MPs will be lost with Scottish independence after Scotland's referendum on 18 September, so Labour would not be able to challenge the 300 Tory MPs.

The Greens enacted Austerity in the one council The Greens rule, Brighton, that is poor within its town boundaries - mostly students, working poor and pensioners (Brighton and Hove and area).

UKIP shouted just as loud as Tory and Lib Dem Coalition against the Council of Europe informing the UK government that they were in breach of international treaty law under the Social Charter, with too low benefit at around £71 per week and basic state pension of £102-£110 per week, saying UK benefit and state pension should be £138 per week.

This sum was said by the Council of Europe to be an interim sum, as the welfare reform from 2010 and the Bedroom Tax had not yet been factored in to their investigation of the UK benefit system.

ENGLAND MADE INTO A GREECE

The IMF said the 'solution' by them and Europe for Greece, just made Greece's economy implode, despite what little welfare state there was and state and works pensions being lost. This is what a 'bail-out' means - no jobs, starvation, no pensions - to pay off foreign banks who generated the debt in the first place, by lending to foreign firms doing works in Greece.

Do not believe that England's politicians are any less corrupt than foreign ones. What else do you call expense claims to heat a horse stable or riding a bicycle a few yards down the road?

The Tories (and Lib Dems) have done the same mistake on spending on the poor as they did with the workhouse two centuries ago, that cost so much yet all it did was kill
5 million people.

Welfare and Pension Reform has and continues to cost billions, so the Tories have put more debt on the nation by borrowing more since 2010, than Labour did in last 13 years, remembering it was Labour who began welfare reform,
brought in Atos (who has not paid corporation tax) and
invented the Bedroom Tax,
with around 47 Labour MPs, including Ed Balls, not showing up to vote down the Bedroom Tax, which was lost by only 26 votes.

Source Link, where you can learn the basics of what is the difference between national debt and national deficit.

OVER THREE CENTURIES OF MANAGING DEBT BETTER WITHOUT AUSTERITY

We hear that governments in the UK have been in power with deficits for last 300 years, with no particular ill effect on business and jobs not suffering, other than budget tightening actual raising national debt.

With all the welfare state between 1945 to 1970, we had an age of great prosperity. Austerity actually defeats prosperity, especially during a recession as the English Democrats observed above and the Royal Economic Society - Cambridge University Professor observe in findings as link:

AUSTERITY HAS NOT ACTUALLY HAPPENED

Austerity has not happened since 2010 or before with Labour Blair / Brown.

The government has borrowed money just as much as they ever did.

But this has not helped business in a recession (began back in 2008 before present government voted into power in 2010) nor saved jobs.

Welfare Reform admin has cost billions on private contracts, with those companies evading tax.

The cuts of benefits to people has only meant more cost to other agencies having to care for those left cashless, hungry and freezing.

As shown with councils funding food banks and more admissions by the frail old and those suffering malnutrition to NHS hospitals, when council budgets are being slashed for frontline services.

Yet in all the time that food bank offerings to those going hungry of only 3 vouchers in a year, that rose under Labour and the Coalition of Tory and Lib Dems, the EU has funded daily canteens offering a cooked meal and hot drink to the working poor and pensioners, in the main, not just to the unemployed and / or homeless.

Meanwhile, government and council management are made redundant with high severance packages, only to be rehired on just as high salaries, whilst basic grade frontline staff lose jobs permanently, with over 1 million jobs projected to be lost by 2018 (two thirds of which to women, already the biggest losers in tax changes and benefit cuts).

HOW TO PAY OFF NATIONAL DEBT TOMORROW HOW THE SWANS WOULD DO IT?

- Reduce all political class significantly reduced, both national and local

- Abolish all welfare admin leaving people with nothing

- Shut down all Jobcentres

- Abolish Council Education departments

- End Council and Government Social Services child care, that fails to save children from abuse or murder

- End Employment Tribunals and Tribunal Appeal courts (better system to gain employment rights in law without recourse to courts and costs of judges)

- End Family Courts and Courts of Protection, that also fail to save children from abuse and bring nation into disrepute in grabbing even foreign kids.

- End all private contracts for welfare admin, no longer needed by universal automatic Citizen Wage of £1,750 per month to all adult citizens.

- Cease contributing to EU government and all Europe MP (MEPs)
(rehire Mr Farage as a Consultant to a Minister for Europe and
English Democrats Chairman Mr Robin Tilbrook for a written constitution
within which guarantee pensions and the welfare state as a core role of government).

- End all carbon trading, funding of climate change, and admin of green taxes by their abolition on people and business

- End BBC being state funded and sell to the private sector

- End admin costs by councils, bailiff, eviction and courts costs, by abolition of Bedroom Tax and Council Tax

- End House of Lords and Peers
(now about 900 and soon to grow to 2000).
The Peers are not politicians, as they are not voted into Lords by the people.

- Sell House of Lords to rich Chinese living in England for renovation as luxury serviced apartments (so providing jobs for British citizens).

- End civil nuclear power other than a small amount for the military

- End redundancy of long serving soldiers - retrain to be more like National Guard that help in national emergencies like the flooding recently

- End all government subsidies by the billion to wind farms, tidal and wave power.

- End admin of Landfill tax and admin costs of government collecting food waste

- End admin costs of Stamp Duty on house purchase

- End admin costs by Ending Inheritance Tax, No Capital Gains Tax and No Benefits in Kind Tax on business and people

- End admin costs by ending Income Tax (existing since 1798) and Ending National Insurance (12 per cent tax above the basic tax band of 20 per cent on lowest waged workers).

- End all politicians' expenses, second homes etc. All these will be absorbed into current budgets in government and all travel of MPs with the military so inside Defence budget.

- Nil admin costs to government of Automatic Citizen Wage and Automatic Citizen State Pension at 60, tax free

By this time the nation might even be in a budget surplus!

If we are in surplus, then fund huge rise in Motability scheme to include mobility scooters and end Car Tax for all. Free training in driving a mobility scooter and insurance within the lease scheme of Motability.

No Under-25s Homeless by Citizen Wage of £1,750 For All

SO-CALLED WELL OFF PENSIONERS ARE NOT TO BLAME FOR THE POLITICS OF ENVY

Ageism is stoked up against pensioners, whilst politicians cut funding to basic help for the under-25s.

Beliefs take root that the 2 million over-65s with assets over £1 million do not need Winter Fuel Allowance.

When just about every house in London is that sale price.

Even the squeezed middle cannot afford the massive inflation in energy bills, with fully half the bill being tax.

This is why there are 30,000 preventable deaths by the old each winter in the UK. More than any other European nation with much colder winters.

And the young left to sleep rough in winter, sanctioned off benefits with no Cold Weather Payments.

We are all in the same boat.

POLITICIANS ARE THE ONLY ONES WHO REALLY GAIN TODAY

Everyone is being bashed of all ages, so politicians can get ever wealthier, living a life of privilege and almost aristocratic lifestyle paid for by every adult in the land.

Because whether unemployed under-25 or pensioner with a £1 million house but not even £10 money left a month after all the bills are paid, we all pay tax by the 75 per cent of personal taxation that comes from Indirect Taxes and VAT, even on food.

ALL AGE GROUPS EQUALLY BASHED BY POLITICAL POLICIES

Welfare Reform is taking from pensioners just as much from funding to help the under-25s.

Pension Reform means from 2013:

  • the wife's state pension is not paid out,
  • the wife cannot then claim Winter Fuel Allowance,
  • the rise in retirement age means because wife below 66, their home is hit by the Bedroom Tax
  • the husband is taxed more by the loss of £3000 extra tax allowance above the basic at 65 from 2013 when someone over 70 needs to heat a room 24/7 to 70F,
  • and the wife may indeed lose all her state pension for life, from changes coming in 2016 for new claimants and be unable to inherit her husband's state pension as his widow
The Grandparents of the under-25s have had loads of cuts to their care and hear government bodies saying to ration treatment and medication to pensioners and unemployed alike, as not in work.

So we are all equally under attack by welfare reform.

The Flat Rate Pension from 2016 will leave millions, especially women, with nil income in old age forever.

Even a pension for those reaching 80 from 2016 will be lost.

See if your relatives between 60-66 lose most or all state pension.
This effects you even if under-25 now, on into the future for you and your children and grandchildren, as well a loss of money into the economy to generate jobs.

WHAT WOULD THE SWANS DO DIFFERENTLY?

To the four million under-25s not registered to vote, there is as much reason not to vote as by those 60 and over in the UK today.

No party really cares about us, no matter what age.

All current political parties believe in Austerity and Welfare Reform within which is pensioner bashing, which deepens recession and is against what governments should be doing when business suffers in an economic downturn.

Ed Balls was one of 47 Labour MPs who failed to turn up to vote down the Bedroom Tax, which vote was lost by just 26 votes, that effects young and old alike.

The Swans offer:

  • Citizen Wage £1,750 a month to all ages, whether in work or not

  • Social housing with rents capped to minimum wage for all,

  • Bringing into use as social housing, the hundreds of thousands empty, abandoned homes.

  • Renovating empty homes will generate new jobs for under-25s building tradesmen.

  • Everyone will be fed every day with a cooked hot meal and hot drink, none will starve, by local government employed catering staff, again jobs for under-25s.

  • No-one will be left homeless, rough sleeping

  • End of Jobcentres and their sanctioning regime to cut benefits leaving people cashless and starving

  • Top slice management in public sector, and use that to fund jobs for frontline services to the community by national and local government, so more jobs for under-25s

  • Pay Full State Pension at 60, of £15,000, tax free by Tax Allowance at 60 of £15,500 to encompass Winter Fuel Allowance of £500 from winter of 2015/16

  • Loss of rightful age payout of state pension and over-taxation of over 65s, has lost tens of thousands of young peoples' jobs in high streets turned into ghost towns, as it is the older people who shop in town.

  • End of Income Tax and National Insurance for business, so making it more affordable to take on staff by small and medium businesses, that is the real growth area for employment

  • Business-run free vocational training to fill skill shortages for all under-25s (Tax breaks) - in fact for all ages.

  • End of Income Tax and National Insurance for people, so all tax is Indirect and VAT only. Why tax people twice?

  • End of Council Tax and Bedroom Tax, major causes of becoming homeless for old and young alike.

  • Citizen Wage plus minimum wage for under-25s means more staff at cash desks, cafes, shops for small to medium sized businesses, which is the real growth for employment.

  • Helps keep farmers on the land as well as smallholders able to make a living. More ability for small-scale organic farming and city farms.
  •
  • Nationalise public transport and cap prices to minimum wage, with better rural public transport

  • Under-25s will get free help from private Recruitment Consultant firms in drawing up their CV and filling in job application forms (tax breaks)

  • Job application will be about ability to do the job and interviewed by those doing the job already as well as Personnel / Human Resources.

Citizen Wage £1,750 per month For All

WEALTH FOR POLITICIANS, STARVATION FOR MILLIONS OF US

UK is the sixth richest nation on earth.

Yet the English Democrats (good mates with the Scottish Nationalist Party and about the same as Plaid Cymru, but right wing) election campaign blurb European Election in May says:

RISE IN RETIREMENT AGE LOST JOBS BY THE THOUSANDS IN UK

The rise of retirement age burdened cash-strapped business and public sector, by putting more costs on employers of National Insurance, paying longer into works pension, extra wage costs at top grade, and all the other costs of employing staff.

To gain your state pension payout, you can still remain in your job or work elsewhere.

Rising the retirement age, gave government the opportunity to deprive the 1950s Baby Boomer generation (and their children and grandchildren on into the future forever) of any state pension at all by the Flat rate (Single Tier) Pension 2016, that leaves millions with little or no pension and so no income in old age:
https://you.38degrees.org.uk/petitions/state-pension-at-60-now

ECONOMY MADE WORSE BY POLITICIANS

The poor have only 3 vouchers in a year for food banks, when abroad the state provides daily canteens with a cooked hot meal and hot drink every day of the week.

And these daily soup kitchens (manned and paid for by local government as well as churches) are mostly used by the majority of the poor, who are the low waged and pensioners, just as they are in the UK, with only less than 3 per cent of UK welfare budget going on unemployed.

Figures show that 1 in 11 people in the UK have less than around £10 a month money left over after bills. This came from the Money Advice Service in 2013.

Politicians say wages have risen, but cut out from these figures all the millions who have seen a wage cut, the rise of the zero hour contract, the self-employed and missed out all the benefit and tax changes, that have especially hit women.

Further, the Institute of Fiscal Studies (IFS) say that real wages (wages against cost of living) have fallen around £1,600 a year since 2010.

Furthermore, the IFS showed families are worse off on average around £900 a year due to tax and benefit changes since 2010, which have impacted women the most.

SWITZERLAND REFERENDUM WON FOR BASIC INCOME FOR ALL ITS ADULT CITIZENS

In Switzerland a referendum by its citizens succeeded in working towards an unconditional basic income for all its citizens of £1,750 per month.

Source:

WHAT WOULD THIS ACHIEVE IN AUSTERITY AND WELFARE REFORM OBSESSED ENGLAND?

By giving all UK adult citizens this £1,750 Citizen Wage, in or out of work and however old and:

  • Revoking the Welfare Reform Act,
  • Revoke Pension Bill (all of them)
  • Revoke Flat Rate (Single Tier) Pension 2016, and
  • 1975 law that guaranteed pensions brought back, revoked by the Tories in 1993 and never brought back by Labour

Money would pour into our recession-hit economy and generate thousands of jobs and bring the nation out of recession overnight.

By everyone having some basic money for food and fuel and accommodation costs, there would be no reason to have the following:

- Jobcentres closed down

- End of Department of Work and Pensions and Minister for same

- End of all parliamentary committees on work and pensions

- End of all private contracts costing billions around cutting benefits

- End of minimum wage being far below a living wage

- A huge increase in receipts from the 75 per cent of income for government that come from Indirect Taxes and VAT, even on food.

- People would feel safe in starting a little self employed business or working part-time

- Rich people giving more to charities helping UK people and politicians would give the money also to UK charities helping people in England.

- Offsets nil pay rises and only 1% rise for such as nurses and doctors in the NHS

- Leaves none to starve, freeze in their homes or bin-dip from dustbins for food whilst sleeping rough

- End councils criminalising the homeless sleeping rough and those who feed the homeless as in London (back to 19th century debtor prisons and the New Poor Law that forbade people and parish from giving food to the starving passed by the Tories and Liberals (now called Lib Dems))

- Save lives of the disabled and chronic sick and poor pensioners

THE SWANS OFFER THIS AND A LOT MORE SOCIAL JUSTICE AND REAL SOLUTIONS TO THE ECONOMY INSTEAD OF WASTE ON WELFARE REFORM (AKA END OF WELFARE STATE), LOSS OF MONEY TO PENSIONERS THAT KILLS 30,000 A YEAR FROM FUEL POVERTY

This is what The Swans new party would offer the UK (or England and Wales if Scotland goes independent after 18 September 2014 referendum).

As well as:

- Basic tax Allowance of £14,000

- Tax Allowance at 60 of £15,500

- £500 Winter Fuel Allowance at 60 winter 2015/2016

THE SWANS WOULD ENSURE END OF AUSTERITY AND END OF WELFARE STATE OPPOSITE THE REAL NEW SOCIALIST PARTIES IN LONDON PARLIAMENT

With new socialist party (or parties in coalition) and The Swans the only parties in parliament in London from 2015 general election, millions of lives would be saved from the torture inflicted on them and costing billions, as more need NHS care.

Why vote for current political class denying what they are doing is direct cause of starvation and deaths from fuel poverty, and then taking an 11 per cent pay rise in 2015 general election year, that is around the £7,500 state pension and pension credit, being denied to millions forever?

A Free Scotland Gives New Socialist Parties England and Wales Best Chance Win General Election 2015

VOTING LABOUR OUT OF HABIT

Because of generations of voting Labour right back to when Labour began at the turn of the 20th Century, there is an old saying, that if a pig had a red Labour rosette round its neck, a loyal Labour voter would vote it into government.

But Labour has betrayed all its faithful voters by not bringing back the 1975 law Labour passed to guarantee pensions, that the Tories revoked in 1993.

So government is under no legal obligation to pay state pensions, which explains all the lost state pensions in the Flat Rate, especially to women.

The amount of people being left with nil income in old age has rocketed with the Flat Rate Pension coming in 2016. Not even 30 per cent of new claimants will get the new flat rate, and even with that will get less as the Flat Rate Pension ends Pension Credit and SERPs / S2P.
Click Here to see if you lose most or all of your state pension
https://you.38degrees.org.uk/petitions/state-pension-at-60-now

The state pension of £144 may indeed be under what the EU says under the Social Charter it should be, as the £138 they suggested, when the basic state pension is around £102-£110, had not taken into account all the tsunami of benefit cuts and bedroom tax imposed on the most vulnerable and on the working poor.

LABOUR AND TORIES EXACTLY THE SAME PARTY NOW

This came from a small Tory-like right wing party called English Democrats, that are good mates with the Scottish Nationalist Party, in their campaign newsletter for the European elections this May:

In a recession you need to ensure your capital expenditure is keeping local people in work.

Two projects, out of many, come to mind:
- a programme to build 200,000 one/two person social housing and another
- to improve flood defences."
English Democrats Newsletter.

IS LABOUR PALE BLUE?

Ed Balls Shadow Chancellor, has said if Labour win next general election, Labour will:

  • continue to Tory idea of having a cap on welfare spending
  • will continue Tory spending plans and
  • be even harder on welfare reform than the Tories.

Voting Labour you might as well vote UKIP.

UKIP is bringing mirth in calling itself the party of the working class, when they shouted just as loud as the Tories against the EU, who said benefit and state pension should have been £138 per week under international treaty law.

THIS IS WHY LABOUR FEAR SCOTTISH INDEPENDENCE?

A Free Scotland after 18 September 2014 referendum on Scottish Independence, would guarantee, according to Labour, a permanent Conservative government in England.

Why?

Because there is one lone Tory MP in Scotland.

Whereas Labour as 41 Labour MPs in Scotland out of a total of around 257 Labour MPs in the UK.

Which means Labour would never again win a sizeable majority in England and Wales in a general election, as Tories number around 300 MPs.

With Lib Dems a party going into oblivion, with only around 56 MPs, which we can but hope vanish in the next year's general election.

A FREE SCOTLAND GIVES BEST CHANCE EVER FOR A COALITION OF REAL SOCIALIST PARTIES IN ENGLAND TO WIN 2015 GENERAL ELECTION

Labour would struggle to get enough votes to form a government in 2015 without Scotland Labour.

The Lib Dems are only a handful up in Scotland.

So real socialists have their core vote of the urban poor - the proletariat - we now call the working poor and all the victims of welfare reform to bank upon as the best chance in UK history to win a general election.

Real socialists would say vote Labour, get Tories back.

A coalition of socialists might say, your life depends on voting true socialist. No-one else cares.

SO-WHAT ABOUT THE IGNORED GREY VOTE BASHED BY ALL CURRENT PARTIES AND COMPLETELY IGNORED BY NEW SOCIALIST PARTIES?

The grey vote will just vote blind as usual, as they have done for over a century.

Despite the fact that all the current political class of Tory, Labour, Lib Dem, Greens - all have gone in for pensioner bashing, making pensioners poorer and poorer.

Fuel poverty kills the over 50s by around 30,000 a year each winter.

All current parties believe in Austerity and Welfare Reform and have enacted it, either in national or local government. And Pension Reform has been lumped into Welfare Reform.

But as Gandhi observed, People's Politics Are Their Daily Bread, and a party anti-Austerity and anti-Welfare Reform, that gave pensioners hope, might just get into government.

WHAT THE SWANS OFFER FOR THE GREY VOTE - OVER 45 YEARS OF AGE

- No party offers full state pension at 60 for all citizens - The Swans would.

- Having The Swans in government would guarantee the end of Welfare Reform and Austerity, as The Swans new party would be in parliament along with the new socialist parties.

So no problem in voting out all the laws and guidelines that have threatened so many vulnerable in society passed by Tory and Labour alike since at least 2005.

The Swans Offer:

- State Pension at 60 for women (back-dated for those first lost pension payout born 1953 and 1954).

- For Men at 60 within first parliament of the Swans.

The law stands that you are not required to leave work to gain your state pension payout.

- Revoke Welfare Reform that has hit the disabled and chronic sick over 45 with little chance of employment.

- Revoke Pension Bill and Flat Rate (Single Tier) Pension 2016.

- Full state pension of £15,000 to all citizens irrespective of National Insurance contribution history. This could be spread between state pension, works pension and private pension and shared by a couple?

- Tax Allowance at 60 of £15,500

- From 2015/16 winter - £500 Winter Fuel Allowance at 60

- Halve Energy Prices (nationalised utilities, no green taxes)

- Citizen Wage to disabled/chronic sick with medical diagnosis of life award of disability / life-long illness.

- Basic Tax Allowance of £14,000 to all ages

- End N.I.C.E. that said not treat/medicate non-working people and end rationing of healthcare to pensioners and unemployed.

- Give favoured status to Scotland from England.

Even at 80 losing a pension

MORE AND MORE LOSSES FOUND ON FLAT RATE PENSION FROM APRIL 2016

The Flat Rate Pension from April 2016 leaves behind forever current pensioners, who lost from 2013 their additional tax allowance from 65, just when the richest 300,000 gained a 5% cut in Income Tax.

REACH 80 - LOSE STATE PENSION - NO OTHER INCOME

Those reaching 80 after April 2016, will not longer get the Category D pension of £66 per week.

This when they will have no other source of income and at a time when it will be mostly women, who tend to live longer than men, and will have also lost gaining 60 per cent of husband's NI contribution history state pension and lost the right to inherit their husband's state pension.

So it is official then.

No state pension, no income from husband, so women aged 80 are airbrushed out of any income.

LOSS OF PENSION CREDIT, STATE EARNING-RELATED PENSION SCHEME (SERPs) AND STATE SECOND PENSION(S2P)  AFTER APRIL 2016 UNDER THE FLAT RATE PENSION

You can remain in work and still draw your state pension.

So the raise in retirement age at a time when chronic sick and disabled benefits are being lost, and sanctions on unemployment benefit more and more, then the state pension gained will be less and less.

As the working poor include a lot of men and women 60 and over, this is a lot of money to lose, when low wages have flat-lined back down to 2002 levels.

BUDGET MADE NO MENTION OF POOREST PENSIONERS

Men and women below the squeezed middle already retired will see discrimination as about 30 per cent new claimants under the Flat Rate Pension get more state pension.

This despite that some current pensioners have far, far more than 35 years NI contribution history.

But as SERPs, S2P and Pension Credit end form April 2016, everyone will be short-changed.

Except women MPs who keep their pension age payout at 60 when within ten years of that age.

WHAT WOULD THE SWANS DO DIFFERENTLY?

I had to laugh out loud (LOL) when I read a local newspaper letter than UKIP is the party of the working class, when it jumped up and down in rage just as much as government, when the Council of Europe said UK was in breach of international treaty law and under the Social Charter, in its low basic state pension of between £102-£110 per week, and it should be £138.

- Full state pension at 60 of £15,000 from 2015 for citizens irrespective of NI credit history, and even if decide to continue in work past retirement age.

- Tax allowance at 60 of £15,500

- Winter Fuel Allowance from 60 of £500

- Winter Fuel Allowance from age 80 of £600

- Within first parliament end Income Tax and National Insurance (saving poorest 20 per cent tax plus 12 per cent National Insurance - a tax rate of 32 per cent)

- End employer's National Insurance

- Minimum Wage is Living Wage, for all ages and men and women equally.

Budget 2014 - Nothing for Low waged or Women at 60 on Benefits

Well No Surprise There

The Budget says it was for low waged, giving £10,500 basic tax allowance for next year.

But for the most vulnerable, low waged, sick and disabled, all that is promised is even less help in life.

WOMEN PENSIONERS SHORT OF A PENSION AT 60 STILL NO BETTER OFF

No mention in Budget of state pension or the changes coming with the Flat Rate Pension in 2016.

But for single pensioners, we can see that women at 60 are losing around £5,727,80 a year and if not in work would also gain pension credit of £35.25 a week, so £145.40 a week, or £7,560,80 a year.

And next year lose £7,714 a year.

This is below the basic tax threshold of £10,000 this year and £10,500 next year.

Age UK inform that you can get your state pension even if still working beyond age 65 (or your retirement age now).

Age UK inform that Category D state pension is a non-contributory pension for people over age 80 years, which is around £66.00 per week.

Age UK inform the category B with spouse's full contributions, wife's state pension £66.00 per week.

A divorcee lady could claim against former husband's full contributions to a maximum of around £110.15 a week.

A widow / widower could inherit State Pension and keep it once receiving it by age, even if remarry.

FLAT RATE PENSION CHANGES FROM 2016

Pension credit, state earnings-related pension scheme (SERPS), and the second state pension end 2016 with the Flat Rate Pension.

The National Insurance contributions required rise from 30 to 35 years.

Those with less than 10 years NI credits, will get nothing.

Those people expecting more than the flat rate of £144 (only 30 per cent of new claimants will get that figure from 2016) because of SERPs will not get that extra.

And that part of the state pension above the £144 flat rate is not guaranteed the annual increases as the main state pension would be (called the triple lock).

So all in all, the state pension is being lowered bit by bit by stealth.

Inequality and Discrimination - Flat Rate Pension 2016 - Even Current Pensioners Lose Pension

CURRENT PENSIONERS LOSE PENSION

The Flat Rate (Single Tier) Pension 2016 pretends your state pension money will be more from 2016.

Nothing could be further from the truth.

GOVERNMENT UNDER NO LEGAL OBLIGATION TO PAY STATE PENSIONS

As the UK is in Europe, it means all this talk of deficits and national debt means the UK government just as easily could do this within EU and UK law.

There was a law in UK from 1975 til 1993 that guaranteed pensions.

The Tories revoked that law in 1993 and no Labour government or Tory / Liberal (Lib Dem now called) Coalition has brought that law back.

This means that the UK government is under no obligation to pay state pensions.

One Tory wanted to impose community service on pensioners to gain state pension, at whatever age.

The delivery of the state pension delivery is to be privatised.

INEQUALITY AND ABOLITION OF PENSIONS

Current pensioners get a state pension that is an illegal low amount by treaty law with Europe.

The Council of Europe informed the UK government that under EU international treaty law UK benefits and state pensions are below what the Social Charter says legally they should be.

The £71 per week benefits and state pension of around £102-£110 per week, should both be £138 per week.

The Pension Bill raised retirement age just as the bulk of the 1950s Baby Boomers (those born from 1953 to 1965) came of age to gain rightful age payout of state pension.

This broke the Coalition election agreement not to raise women's retirement age of 60 til 2020 and men's of 65 til 2016.

You might care to sign Anne Keen's petition as well as mine, as even if women's state pension was gained at 60, the Flat Rate Pension and other changes would take the pension away.

WORKING POOR INCLUDE HALF OF WOMEN AGED 60-66 YEARS

The loss of benefits to the working poor, with ever more cutting of the benefits bill, means the working poor are hardest hit.

And women are harder hit than men, from women being two thirds of the million public sector jobs that will be lost by 2018.

And because, on average, women are poorer than men, so need benefits more to bring them closer to a living wage.

With women losing rightful age payout at 60 of state pension from 2013, for those born from 1953, it means the Flat Rate Pension will reduce further any state pension received at age 66.

If women have any state pension rights in the main by then.

See if you lost most or all of your State Pension:

FLAT RATE PENSION IS INEQUALITY AND DISCRIMINATION TO CURRENT PENSIONERS AND 70 PER CENT NEW CLAIMANTS FROM 2016

The Flat Rate pension 2016 pretends it will pay new claimant pensioners £144 per week, so complying with EU law.

But this £144 will only be to 30 per cent of new claimants, because:

a)  the National Insurance contribution years required rises from 30 years now to 35 years in 2016, and

b) new claimant needs a full history of being contracted into SERPs (State Earnings-Related Pension Scheme) or the State Second Pension. Around 6 million workers were contracted out of these schemes as far back as 1988.

This includes county council works pensioners, who took all their pensioners out of SERPs.

Against rise of NI needed from 30 to 35 years - revoke Flat Rate Pension 2016

HOUSEWIVES LOSE ALL STATE PENSION

Current pensioners with a wife below the state pension age (those born from 1953 have retirement age of 66 and beyond now), with little or no National Insurance credit history of her own, will lose her 60 per cent of husband's state pension rate from 2016.

A man or woman with less than 10 years will get no state pension.

From 2016 a woman who divorces her husband cannot claim the 60 per cent state pension from his NI contributions.

Widows will no longer be able to inherit their husband's state pension from 2016.

So a housewife with little or no NI credit history of her own, may also lose benefit and so have zero income in old age.

Against housewives being left with no income in old age

LOW PAID WORKERS LOSE ALL STATE PENSION WHICH DISCRIMINATES AGAINST UK CITIZENS

Changes by government, mean that low paid workers that earned less than £109 per week and worked less than 14 hours per week, have zero National Insurance credits.

These low paid workers are no longer within the welfare state and have no right to benefits or state pension for life.

This is in contrast to EU work migrants and immigrants who get benefits and pension credit with zero National Insurance credit history.

Another group of people, that could be millions or 80,000 dependent on political statistics, with zero income in old age.

And this may include the million on zero hour contracts, which will be a lot of low income women who turned into self-employed.

Against policy that leaves low waged with no state pension or any benefit in old age - so abolishing the welfare state that was originally invented for just such people.

CURRENT PENSIONERS LEFT WITH BELOW EU LEGAL RATE OF STATE PENSION

Government (whoever wins next general election) intend to end Cold Weather Payments / Winter Fuel Allowance, Free TV Licence and Bus passes, even to those already receiving them.

Current pensioners will continue to get the below EU law rate of between £102-£110 and will not get the Flat Rate of £144.

Again and again there has been the idea of taxing the state pension at source, as there is no law that obliges the government to pay the state pension, even to those already receiving the pension.

Revoke Pension Bill and Flat Rate Pension as Discrimination to current pensioners

LOSS OF HIGHER AGE RELATED TAX ALLOWANCE

For those who turned 65 in 2013, they lost £3000 extra tax allowance above the basic tax allowance.

Just as the richest 300,000 people in UK gained a 5% Income Tax cut.

More people have been caught by lower thresholds for the top rate tax of 40 per cent, and these 'squeezed middle' are basic workers like teachers and firemen.

In the Panorama programme on food banks on Monday 3 March 2014, a 'squeezed middle' couple were interviewed, who found it harder and harder to buy food each month for themselves and their children after all the cost of living rises.

And the Tonight programme The Rise of the Working Poor on 6th March 2014.

Energy bills have had massive inflation (half of cost is green taxes that way on low waged and pensioners the most) and food prices have risen 25 per cent in last six years.

Retirement finance boffins say that the average income for a pensioner to keep out of food and fuel poverty (a 70 year old needs to heat one room to 70F 24/7 to keep well) was £10,020 (2012-2013 figures). And in London was £12,299 (2012-2013 figures).

This loss is also in my petition:
Against men and women loss tax allowance at 65

But you might recall that with the Bedroom Tax and taxable benefits and the threat to part-time workers of cuts to housing benefit if they do not gain a full-time job, that the poorest are also being taxed on their food money.

PENSIONERS - THE WITHERING AWAY OF YOUR STATE PENSION

Austerity means the end of pensions.

The State Pension has been lumped into Welfare Reform, when it is not some generous gift from government to be withdrawn at whim, but deferred wages from our youth.

National Insurance has been 12 per cent of your wage up til the 40 per cent tax band (when 2 per cent), so the tax rate for low workers above the basic tax allowance has been 32 per cent.

EXAMPLES FROM EUROPE OF GOVERNMENT TAKING PENSION MONEY

Bail-outs in Europe mean pension funds from private, works and state pension are taken by Europe's government to pay French and German banks the money owed by any EU member nation's debt to Europe.

Most of this debt was incurred by French and German firms doing capital works in said southern and eastern Europe and then leaving the poor nation with the debt to the French and German banks.

The IMF realise now that the 'solutions' imposed on indebted nations have just brought back less repayment from taxation as the economies of those countries has imploded with no jobs and no business. Greece, for example, has no basic tax allowance and has so many personal taxes, that the taxes gained from people to government (actually direct to Europe) is plummeting.

In Hungary, all pensions from private, works and state were nationalised and taken from even those already receiving pensions, to pay for debt to Europe.

WHAT WOULD THE SWANS DO DIFFERENTLY?

- Pass law guaranteeing pensions

- Revoke Welfare Reform Act, Pension Bill and Flat Rate (Single Tier) Pension 2016

- All citizen pensioners, current and new claimants from 2015 will get £15,000 state pension payout, tax free from age 60

- Basic Tax Allowance of £14,000

- Tax Allowance from 60 of £15,500

- £500 Winter Fuel Allowance for winter 2015-2016.

- Expats who have retired abroad will get the EU rate of £138 per week state pension, gaining same rises as in UK, as long as still UK citizens. Tax free.

- Equality of treatment and medication under the NHS however old.

- End of Council Tax and BBC Licence

- Work towards end of Car Tax.
