SLAVERY IS NOT JUST TRAFFICKING BUT INCLUDES WORKFARE

UK GOVERNMENT ENSLAVING OWN PEOPLE

Both the Coalition government and the Head of the UK Catholic church are attending a summit on the issue of slavery being held in the Vatican City Rome Italy, from today, Monday 8 April 2014.

Their joint article in the media stated that UK firms should endeavour to ensure no suppliers are involved in 'trafficking or exploitation'.

The criteria of slavery was listed about the various crime gangs but included victims:

• trafficked for cheap labour
• domestic servitude

and both the Coalition and the head of the UK Catholic church stated that what UK victims of slavery in the UK all had in common was:

• they are socially and economically vulnerable
• on the margins of society
• exploit people who have no voice

Yet this sounds exactly the same as the victims of Workfare?

The Coalition UK government intends to pass stronger law, in the Modern Slavery Bill, the first of its kind in Europe, to punish offenders and protect victims.

And in the UK there will be created an Anti-Slavery Commissioner, to hold law enforcement and other organisations to account.

So why is not Workfare included as it is slavery, even if done by the state?

Does the state not have a moral duty to its people?

SO WHY IS NOT WORKFARE NOT DEEMED SLAVERY?

Both able-bodied and the much flawed fit for work assessment of disabled / chronic sick of all ages right up to 66 years of age and older, are forced by the state to work for nil wages, whilst the company gets a fee from the government (really from the taxpayer) for peoples' free labour.

Labour intend, if they win the 2015 general election, to replace Workfare, by demanding the unemployed work for a minimum wage that is not a living wage. So again slavery exploitation for cheap labour, with a fee to the company to enslave the workers.

So why is this different from the buying and selling of trafficked victims to be used as cheap enslaved labour?

And does this not cost more than the all the admin and benefit payout in the first place?

How Bedroom Tax Proves Welfare Reform Threatens Greece Debt Woes

BEDROOM TAX - THE FALLACY OF FAIRNESS

We learn today that the support for people driven into debt by the Bedroom Tax from councils is ending, as funds now all used up after a 300 per cent rise in cries for help.

But compassion is an unknown emotion in the political class.

Just when we hear the Bedroom Tax is taxing people out of money they do not have, the government allows a politician to get away with an expenses scandal for a second home, who then sold up for a tidy profit.

And at a time when expenses for second homes for each 650 politicians is around £20,100 a year on the taxpayer.

The government says it is saving millions to the taxpayers by the Bedroom Tax, when the cost of rent arrears, courts and evictions show that to be a complete fallacy.

PENSIONERS LIABLE TO BEDROOM TAX

With the rise in retirement age, then a below pension age partner makes the couple liable for the Bedroom Tax.

Just when benefits being cut to able bodied and disabled alike, part time workers losing housing benefit when unable to find full time work and the welfare benefits cap agreed between all current political class, women lose nearly £43,000 of payout of state pension between 60 and 66 years of age.

When Women MPs kept the pension payout at 60 if within ten years of that age, so keeping payout of best public sector taxpayer-funded works pension at 60 as well as payout of state pension. 

That was the Pension Bill.

Far worse is to come with the Flat Rate (Single Tier) Pension fromApril 2016, which deprives women of any state pension, so nil income in old age altogether:

BEDROOM TAX REPLACED BY BLOCK BOOKING OF HOTEL CHAIN SINGLE ROOMS

It has never occurred to any politician that the Bedroom Tax costs more in admin, than merely putting single able bodied people into Premier Inns or Travelodges, other cheap hotel chains, or off-season holiday resort bed and breakfasts.

So why do councils not do this instead of imposing the Bedroom Tax on all residents asking for help in housing costs?

How?

All social housing and councils just redesignate all homes receiving benefit help, as one bedroomed homes, calling all other bedrooms 'unspecified'.

But then the Bedroom Tax has never been about saving money, but about punishing the poor for the crime of poverty.

BEDROOM TAX SHOWS WHOLE OF         WELFARE REFORM MAKES GREECE DEBT INEVITABLE IN UK

Welfare Reform deepens national debt, with more admin cost, when it would have been far cheaper to leave the welfare state entirely alone.

The welfare state began in an England deep in war debt and did not drive the nation into debt, but existed when England enjoyed an age of prosperity from 1945 to 1970.

The Tories have wasted more in 4 years in government on bringing starvation to England, than Labour wasted on welfare reform in last 13 years of their term in office.

This means that the recession has proved Austerity has been the most dangerous idea in modern times for a nation's economy.

Meanwhile politicians get richer and richer on the taxpayer.

WHAT WOULD THE SWANS DO DIFFERENTLY?

THE AUTOMATIC CITIZEN WAGE FOR ADULT CITIZENS

By a narrow 2 votes, Left Unity Party lost the vote in their first national conference, for an Automatic Citizen Wage in their manifesto for 2015 general election.

Their vote thwarted by a belief gone viral that the rich are to blame for the woes of the poor.

Wrong!

In every communist nation there is capitalism and rich individuals, as shown by the recent surge of investment in the UK by the Chinese.

The people actually to blame for wasting funding that should have gone on supporting business in a recession, are personally greedy politicians in all our current political class.

The Swans beseech the Left Unity Party Executive to think again and vote to bring in the Automatic Citizen Wage.

The Welfare State and Pensions need to be automatic to citizens.

So never again can politicians get rich whilst threatening the lives of the poor by the millions.

Hundreds of millions of pounds would be poured into the economy with an Automatic Citizen Wage and State Pension linked to average wage of around £26,000.

There would be no working or unemployed poor.

The disabled / chronic sick could afford to adapt their homes, so creating business and jobs in the community.

And the welfare admin saved could offset far more purple jobs of better paid carers for the elderly, disabled, sick and long term patients, so freeing up NHS hospital beds.

In stark contrast, to the billions and billions of welfare admin money wasted every day.

Without welfare admin altogether, we could:

• Shut all Jobcentres with their sanctions regime
• Abolish the Department of Work and Pensions costing people their lives
• Sack all private contracts about welfare, who pay nil corporation tax

Making starvation a thing of the past, ending return of Rickets in children, a sign of poverty of but a century ago.

Left Unity Party and State Pensions

LEFT UNITY PARTY OFFER BIGGEST STATE PENSION

You cannot realise what a relief it is, to read my first reply from Left Unity Party about pensions and pensioners.

Don't know yet if I will get my state pension in 2015, with a return to women's state pension at 60 (so revoking the Pension Bill) or all the reductions or losses of the Flat Rate Pension (Single Tier) from 2016:

But the few sentences were so hopeful to me and millions of women in the UK.

REPLY ONE - BRING STATE PENSION TO LEVEL OF MEDIAN EARNINGS

Now this should put the wind up the Tories, as the squeezed middle has lost out big time to low annuities rates (buying a pension when a pension is payable) and low interest on savings.

Even UKIP, with its around 70 per cent pensioner membership and blue collar oldies, might have second thoughts, if Left Unity absorbs the ideas of No2EU?

As the changes to taking whole private pension as a lump sum are to come in force next year, the criteria is that you have a state pension payout due.

So there is a contradiction here, as you can take out the lump sum from age 55, but people have lost state pension payout til 66 for women and 67 or 68 for men already.

And the age related tax allowance was lost at 65 from 2013 and the lump sum will be liable to income tax.

Don't know what Left Unity Party offer on that one yet.

That doesn't effect me. Thousands of women have no private pension as, like me, too low waged to buy one.

REPLY TWO - GOING MUCH FURTHER TO SUPPORT PENSIONERS THAN REVERSING THE GOVERNMENT REFORMS WOULD

OK great.

But no sign of revoking the Pension Bill that raised retirement age.

Or of revoking the Flat Rate (Single Tier) Pension coming into Force in 2016 that ends Pension Credit, State earnings related pension and State Second Pension.

Do I look a gift horse in the mouth?

I have to.

Because my personal fiscal cliff looms large in my financial life (what little there is of it, of course), as it does for many, many others.

Many, of course, are already over the fiscal cliff into the abyss.

Half of women aged 60-66 are within the working poor losing benefit, even threatened with housing benefit cuts if cannot move from part-time work to full-time job. These women already work 24/7 supporting grandchildren, elderly parents, husband that might be ill or disabled and themselves not in the best of health.

The majority reason women between 50-66 not in work is due to being disabled and/or chronic ill (you can have multiple disabilities and more than one chronic illness, I can attest to).

REPLY THREE - REFORM PENSION FUNDS        OUT OF HANDS OF COWBOY HEDGE FUND MANAGERS GAMBLING WITH                      PEOPLE'S LIFE SAVINGS

OK this is mostly the squeezed middle, but then women in the squeezed middle are the biggest losers in all the tax changes to such as less child tax credits, maternity pay cuts and housing benefit cuts and loss of council tax benefit.

As women tend to be even poorer than men.

But another hope to bring the squeezed middle away from Labour as well as Tories and UKIP.

REPLY FOUR - MAKE IT A CRIME TO LEAVE ANYONE YOUNG OR OLD DESTITUTE

Now that will give the heebeegeebees to councillors and council leaders and direct public elected mayors of cities. (No not the ceremonial mayors that are just a cardboard cutout and take money away from charitable donations from councils, for their extra expenses for a year of their lack of any councillor work).

Labour offers an end of the private contracts with such as Atos, but Atos jumped the gun and ran for the hills already, renaming itself OH-Assist or something.

Labour mention also sacking Serco and G4S, with no mention of Capitas.

But those private companies would be directly effected by such law from Left Unity Party, as would the Department of Work and Pensions. Would it be individual or a corporate law? We not know yet.

My make-believe Swans solution, was to end all welfare admin, by the Automatic Citizen Wage of £21,000.

The average (median) wage in the UK is £26,000.

So Left Unity solves the sanctions and fit for work sanctions threatening so many lives.

I know a bit of this.

Six months I was chased by letters threatening to cut off benefits from Atos and DWP, about benefits I had never received or been eligible for, as the welfare state has ended for me. As I did not work nor receive benefits in last two tax years, I no longer am eligible for contribution based benefit, and by income based benefit my works benefit was too much.

Good thing it turned out. Because contribution based benefit is taxable and would had tax taken off it as well as from my little works pensions, when put together they are below the basic tax allowance of £9,440 (£10,000 now 2014-2015).

Despite my works pension being below the level set by Europe under international treaty law of the Social Charter for benefit and state pension.

This level now raised substantially by the promises of the Left Unity Party and offered to voters.

But there is a flaw.

Income Tax would have to rise substantially to at least a basic tax allowance of £26,000.

We watch this space what Left Unity Party says to that?

EVERYONE IS A TAXPAYER, IN OR OUT OF WORK AND HOWEVER LONG WE LIVE

Because hiding under my Swans new party moniker, I offered the end of Income Tax and National Insurance altogether, that caused the lowest waged for decades a 32 per cent tax rate on a much lower tax threshold and higher tax band. Made up of 20 per cent tax and 12 per cent National Insurance.

We are fooled into thinking only Income Tax brings in tax to government from people.

This is why politicians get away with the lie that benefits and state pensions are 'something for nothing' culture.

We all pay tax, from the 75 per cent of tax from people of Indirect Taxes and VAT, embedded in our daily lives, even on food.

So the poorest people are up to 90 per cent tax rate, so, in effect, super taxpayers.

On every drop of beer, every whiff of cigarette, every litre of petrol for an old banger that is charged far more car tax than a new car the poor cannot afford.

How Sitting Labour MPs Could Change to New Party Today?

WHY DOES LABOUR NEEDS TO END?

The UNITE union has said Labour faces defeat if it campaigns as a pale shade of austerity in 2015 general election.

It never ceases to amaze me that trade unions actually think Labour is a left wing, socialist party, which it has not been since Blair, and continues today with people prominent in Gordon Brown's administration of Ed balls and Labour Leader Mr Miliband.

Labour began welfare reform, brought in Atos, invented the Bedroom Tax and has voted with the Coalition now on the welfare cap.

Ed Balls and 46 other Labour MPs did not bother to vote on the Bedroom Tax, and so it won through, with the vote against it losing only by 26 votes.

WHY CANNOT THE REAL SOCIALISTS IN LABOUR JUST SWITCH PARTIES?

There appears to be two kinds of Labour.

New Labour is the top of the party.

Low number of Labour rebels, who follow the prior beliefs of now much missed passed over Mr Wedgwood Benn and Mr Crowe of the RMT union and his party TUSC (Trade Unionist and Socialists Against Cuts).

TUSC was the sole party who said the truth about state pensions -
pension is not a benefit, nor some generous gift from government to be withdrawn at whim,
the state pension is deferred wages from our youth.

SCOTTISH INDEPENDENCE MEANS IMPOSSIBLE FOR LABOUR TO FORM A GOVERNMENT IN 2015

The Scottish need to escape Austerity obsessed London, because 2015 will just bring more misery to:

- working poor on wages flat-lined back to 2002 levels,
- women aged 60-66 and men 65-68 without a state pension and pension credit, so no Winter Fuel Allowance
- disabled, nil benefit no Cold Weather Payments
- chronic sick, nil benefit and threat to life
- young people enslaved in workfare with nil income or insufficient minimum wage so going to work costs all the benefit so what money is left to escape food and fuel poverty - answer none,
and
- the 3 per cent only of benefits bill that is to the unemployed, suffering sanctions regime leaving them starving and going to food banks.

With a Free Scotland from 18 September 2014 Scottish Independence Referendum, Labour in the UK would cease being able to form a government in London. Families Labour voters and trade unionists for generations back to great grandfather and beyond are voting Yes.

Why?

Because Scotland has 41 Labour MPs, against only 1 Tory MP.

So Labour would not have enough MPs in UK to go up against the 299 Tory MPs.

WHAT COULD TRADE UNIONS DO TO ENSURE A WORKERS' PARTY IN 2015?

Why could not trade unions like UNITE, GMB and RMT not ask sitting Labour MPs to change party to the new Left Unity Party or to an entirely new party, The Swans new party?

- Government back research in solar battery electric cars to bring into use in cities instead of congestion charge, ending electric cars needing power stations. More jobs for workers.

- More jobs by government / private finance build regional seaports inside a nationalised railways, with more freight rail and not build HS2 - so might gain some Tory votes in wealthy villages.

- More jobs by walk away (not even costs of a referendum) from Empire Europe's rule, with its impending bankruptcy and its toxic Euro money, with only a business link to Europe as done by the wealthiest nations in Europe of Switzerland and Norway.

- End wind farms, tidal and wave, by taxing them and nil subsidy. Gain votes in Tory wealthy villages. Also good for wildlife. More jobs in a whole raft of ways to make UK as self sufficient in power as possible, instead.

- Bring back deep mined coal in the UK with modern clean technologies. So more jobs for young people and helps business in the local community.

- Nil Council Tax on trade union buildings. End of benefit in kind company taxes and taxes on company vehicles.

The Old Today Save Your Kids at 60 and Grandkids at 40 Tomorrow

Labour says that in government in 2015, it would would tackle the “root causes” of rising costs – such as low wages, youth unemployment and the increase in part-time workers.

The vast majority of Labour voted for Tory policies on welfare now. We can but hope that the dozen or so rebels now leave Labour and join and promote a real socialist party.

As Labour's solution is just another form of Workfare, forcing young people into jobs with insufficient legal minimum wage to not fall into food and fuel poverty.

All other parties, even new little ones saying they are for pensioners, believe in Austerity and Welfare Reform, that has actually caused national debt to spiral ever deeper and left millions with the fear of being left with nothing, or actually suffering it.

WELFARE COSTS NOT RISEN BY WHAT IS GIVEN TO PEOPLE

The admin of welfare reform has been the cause of more debt, as shown by the Tories racking up as much debt in 4 years, as Labour did in last 13 years, who began all this welfare reform, bringing in Atos and inventing the Bedroom Tax.

Welfare and pension reform has withdrawn money from people, leaving them with absolutely nothing.

The local economy has lost by the millions. Not least by tax changes as much as welfare money lost to people.

Whilst private contracts in welfare admin has caused government debt to spiral by the billion, so government wasting funding on that and not on investment in business, which is the role of government in recessions.

This is most obviously seen in town centres become ghost towns, with all the lost of jobs, because it is the low waged, low income unemployed and pensioners who go to shop on the high street.

WELFARE GOES TO PEOPLE IN WORK - SO ANY FALL IN UNEMPLOYMENT WILL NOT SOLVE ANYTHING

The loss of benefit to people suffering flat-lined wages crashed down to 2002 levels in value, was made worse by the rise in retirement age taking nearly £140 a week in state pension and pension credit from women at 60 and men at 65.

Losing benefit, lose Cold Weather Payment.

Lose state pension, lose Winter Fuel Allowance.

The Pension Bill was bad enough for people and a burden on cash-strapped business in a recession.

WHAT WOULD THE SWANS DO DIFFERENTLY?

- End All Austerity and Welfare Reform

- End all Welfare Reform Admin, both in government and in private contracts

- End Department of Work and Pensions and all committees in parliament about same

- Automatic Citizen Wage of £1,750 to all adult citizens, tax free - yes £21,000 a year - 18 til 59 years of age. This replaces all the admin benefits costs for able bodied and disabled/chronic sick by just being automatically paid.

- No Citizen Wage for any level of politicians and a Banker / Investment Stockbroker due a bonus.

- No Benefits for non-citizens or social medicine. Benefits from home nation, private medical insurance, own social housing credit unions and schooling. Or funded by international refugee agencies to which UK already contributes anyway.

- Full State Pension to all adult citizens at 60 of £121,000 (made up of private, works and state pension or state pension alone if no other pension income) instead of Citizen Wage.

- Basic Tax Allowance of £21,000

- Tax Allowance at 60 of £25,500

- Halve energy bills by ending green taxes and nationalising utilities

- Revoke Welfare Reform Act, Pension Bill (all of them) and Flat Rate (Single Tier) Pension 2016

- Pass law to guarantee pension payout
(passed in 1975 and revoke by Tories in 1993 and never brought back by Labour since then)

- End all welfare admin, assessments, welfare tribunals and appeal courts, so saving the lives from that stress to the disabled and chronic sick

- Top slice public sector management and focus on staff delivering frontline services

- End politicians' expenses system and drastically reduce the political class

- Reduce number of councils by merging all councils into one council per county or big city, with no more than 10 elected by the public People Advocates

- End House of Lords (save on expenses for 900 Peers, about to grow to 2000)

- Promote Scottish independence and leave each devolved nation to self-fund own parliament (that is: Ulster, Wales and Scotland).

- Bring all empty homes into social housing, with rents capped to minimum wage

- Private rents only to the squeezed middle and not the low waged, meeting minimum levels of maintenance for healthy living.

- Austerity in a recession is what the IMF said was a mistake about Greece, that has imploded that nation into not just a 3rd world country but a 4th world nation. Europe even wanted to tax the charities feeding Greece's population every day a cooked meal and a hot drink.

WHAT WOULD THE SWANS OFFER THE SOCIALISTS?

The socialists know they would not gain the votes of those over 60, and yet these are the majority of voters left in the UK.

The young and many of the squeezed middle do not bother to come out to vote, even if they are on the electoral vote and so have a right to vote.

The Swans would offer something to the squeezed middle, in which are a lot of pensioners and women aged 60 since 2013.

The socialists would bring the poor, unemployed and homeless young into voting, as Gandhi observed, People's Politics Are Their Daily Bread.

In amongst the squeezed middle are people who struggle to pay the food bill for the family, because of the huge rise in the cost of living.

It is not enough to freeze energy bills.

The Swans would immediately half the bill by ending green taxes.

The socialists will realise that it is the poorest in society that are burdened the most by green taxes, which have not really brought a low energy community.

The Swans would end all the subsidy of profit making wind, tidal, wave and end building new nuclear power plants. Instead, there is off the peg technology already available to make homes, towns, businesses, industry and government building self generating in electricity and share the electricity not used. So bringing down the cost of electricity to next to nothing.

Even vehicles driving along a road could power the street lights.

No more landfill, that all become nationalised energy from waste so nothing goes to waste, but energy regained for a second time.

Between the Swans and the socialists, we would end the threat to life to you and your family, friends, colleagues, and fellow vulnerable and poor in society, that include the 30,000 elderly who die from preventable freezing in their own homes.
